Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is DNA?
Deoxyribonucleic Acid, located inside our cells, carries our genetic information from one generation to the next. This information is necessary for the inheritance of our unique characteristics.

How accurate is DNA paternity testing?
A DNA Paternity testing is the most accurate way to determine the paternity of an individual. When the DNA patterns of the tested parties are analyzed, the child and alleged father must have at least one allele in common. We guarantee a paternity probability of 99.9% or higher for every test. If there are at least three (3) non-matches between the child and the tested man, then it is concluded with 100% accuracy that he is not the biological father.

What should I look for in a DNA testing company?
The DNA testing process is extremely important and can seem very overwhelming. It is essential that the company you choose be highly qualified and experienced. The laboratory should also be equipped with the most recent and reliable technology. In addition, the company should be accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks, as well as other certified organizations.

Is a court or doctor’s order required?
No. You do not need to have a court order or doctor’s order to have a DNA test done.
New York Residents: New York State Rules and Regulations allow a clinical laboratory to examine specimens only at the request of a licensed physician or attorney. If you live in New York, please call us at 1-800-329-3758 for a free consultation

Are there age limits for DNA testing?
Because of the collection process, the procedure can be performed easily and painlessly on all children, even newborns.

How do I order a test?
To order a test, you must first set up a case and order a kit. Please visit our online order form or call one of our representatives at 1-800-329-3758.

How do I collect the DNA samples?
When you receive your in-home testing kit, you will simply remove a cotton-like swab, similar to Q-tip, and rub it on the inside of the cheek to gather cells. You will use four (4) swabs for each tested party, two on each side of the mouth. The swabs are then to be placed in the envelopes provided and returned to the laboratory. More detailed instructions can be found on our Procedures page, as well as included in the kit that is sent to you.

How soon are my results available?
Once the laboratory receives your samples, the testing process will be completed in five business days. At that time, we will send you your results via first-class mail. You may receive your results sooner via email, fax, or phone. To request immediate results, please contact us at 1-800-329-3758.

Do you have payment plans?
If you are unable to send in the full-payment when you send the samples back to the laboratory, we will keep the samples in a secure environment for up to 90 days. We will begin testing once the entire balance is paid in full.

How do you protect my privacy and keep the test confidential?
We understand that paternity testing is a very serious and concerning situation. Because of this, we do everything possible to ensure that your privacy is respected and that your results and information are kept confidential. We will only talk to individuals that we have been given permission to talk to. If necessary, you may place a password on your case. Without this password, we cannot release any information at all. Anything that we would send to your home would be sent in an unmarked, white envelope to any address that you request.
