 Lab Process
Once the laboratory receives your samples, the DNA paternity testing process begins immediately. To ensure that your test results are accurate, every sample is run twice by two separate laboratory teams.
DNA from the cheek cells are extracted from the swabs and placed into a thermocycler with 16 fluorescent primers that will identify specific fragments of the DNA. Once the amplification process is complete, a DNA profile is created. Each person’s DNA profile is then analyzed and compared by an experienced DNA expert, who will calculate the paternity probabilities.
