When you order a kit, either via our online order form or by calling us at 1-800-329-3758, we will ship it to you within 24 hours of receiving your request. Contained in your kit will be the following four (4) items:

Sterile Dacron Synthetic Swabs: cotton-like swabs designed specifically for the collection of DNA. (Plastic wrap they come in should be discarded after opening.) Swab Storage Envelopes: used for placement of the swabs after collection to avoid contamination by mold or bacteria. Business Reply Envelope: used to send the samples back to our DNA testing laboratory. Collection Instructions: detailed procedure for collecting the DNA samples.

Once all of the above items are accounted for, you will need to follow the steps below to complete the collection process.

1. Remove the Swab Storage Envelopes from the kit and fill in the appropriate information on EACH of the envelopes.

   •	The envelopes for the CHILD and ALLEGED FATHER are pre-labeled.
   •	Any additional envelopes needed are not labeled. These are provided for the other tested parties, such as the mother, a second child, or a second alleged father. You MUST LABEL these additional envelopes, indicating whose sample it contains.
   •	It is also very important for our statistical analysis that you provide us with proper race information.

2. Open one package of the Sterile Dacron Synthetic Swabs at the OPPOSITE end of the swab tip.

   •	DO NOT touch the swab tip .
   •	In each package of swabs, there are FOUR swabs for each person: two for the right cheek and two for the left cheek.

3. Discard the plastic package.

4. Collect the DNA samples by opening the mouth wide and inserting the swab to the inside of the cheek. Rub swab firmly in all directions, rotating the swab while rubbing. Each person needs to use four swabs. Use two swabs on the right side of the mouth and two on the left side of the mouth.

5. Place the swabs directly into the appropriately labeled envelope. DO NOT place the swabs back into the plastic.

6. Repeat STEPS 2-4 for each tested party.

7. Place each of the labeled envelopes, containing the samples, into the Business Reply Envelope.

Send all the samples, along with your payment, back to our laboratory so testing can begin.
